What a gift costs the viewer
Every TikTok gift has a fixed price in coins. The coin price is the same everywhere in the world, but the price of a coin is not: TikTok sets coin bundle prices per country and adds local taxes. On tiktok.com in the US a coin costs about $0.0106, and in the iOS or Android app about $0.0152, because Apple and Google add a store fee of roughly 30%.
That's why this list shows the price in coins first and the money value as an estimate. Switch the currency to see the approximate cost in euros, pounds, rupees or any of 16 currencies, using daily exchange rates.
What the creator actually receives
When a gift lands, the creator receives diamonds rather than coins. Roughly one diamond is credited per coin, and one diamond pays out about $0.005. The rest, about half of what the viewer spent, stays with TikTok. A Lion (29,999 coins) therefore earns the creator about $150.
Cheap gifts vs. expensive gifts
Most gifts sent on LIVE are small: Roses, Hearts and Finger Hearts cost 1 to 5 coins and are sent in long combos. Mid-range gifts between 100 and 999 coins, like the Corgi or Money Gun, are used to celebrate goals. Gifts over 10,000 coins, such as the Lion, Pegasus or TikTok Universe, play full-screen animations and usually decide LIVE battles.
How to pay less for coins
Buy coins on tiktok.com/coin in a browser instead of in the app. You get the same coins for about a third less, because no app store fee is added. Larger bundles don't lower the price per coin much, so buy only what you plan to send.
