What a channel owner gets
Telegram's terms for content creators say that a channel owner may receive the equivalent of $0.013 in rewards for each Star earned with paid posts. So 1,000 Stars are worth $13.00 to them. In other currencies the calculator converts at the day's exchange rate.
For Stars that come from reactions, gifts or a bot's sales, the terms we read give no rate. Telegram pays the rewards through Fragment, and a channel's Stars can be withdrawn 21 days after they come in.
What buyers pay
A Star costs a buyer more than a channel gets for it. On Fragment each Star costs $0.015, so 1,000 Stars cost $15.00. In the US App Store the smallest pack holds 100 Stars for $1.99 (listed on Oct 1, 2026), and each country's App Store sets its own prices in its own currency.
Telegram's terms say it does not expect to change the price of Stars often, but it may. Stars you buy cannot be sold or turned back into money.
Stars as ad credit
A channel can also spend the Stars it earned on Telegram Ads for itself. Then each Star is worth $0.02 in ad credit, so 1,000 Stars pay for $20.00 of ads. Telegram says this value can change with promotions.
